An extensive two-month cruise circling the Land Down Under was terminated days after the tragic passing of an older female passenger who was stranded by the ship on a remote tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been walking on the tropical location with other travelers from the cruise ship, but broke off from the party for a pause. The vessel left without her and came back later that day after the personnel became aware the woman was unaccounted for.

A major hunt discovered her body the next day.

Authorities are examining the event, together with law enforcement and the official investigator.

Head of the voyage organizer announced that passengers and personnel on the ship were told that the rest of the journey had been cancelled due to the "sad loss and previous technical problems".

Through an announcement, he further stated that travelers would be issued a complete reimbursement, and said the company was working "to coordinate the return journeys of the individuals via chartered flights".

Officials also published an latest communication, and said they had "provided a notice to the Captain" preventing any further travelers from getting on the ship.

The spokesperson said that they would attend the vessel in the port city upon its coming back.

The ship originally sailed from Cairns on October 24th, and was merely two days into the expedition at the point of the elderly woman's demise. The tropical location was the first stop on the voyage.

Guests on board - who generally pay tens of thousands of currency to take part in the voyage - were transported there for a day trip with the possibility of walking or snorkeling.

The offspring of the victim said that her family was "surprised and grieved that the liner left the island after an planned outing without my mum".
