Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

A family member advised me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have have plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
