On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard phone records and evidence retrieved from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most publicized missing child cases and continues to be open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One phone message, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I believe."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "Suppose there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? What then? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I don't want money, I have a living here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the recording stated.

The panel was informed that by means of electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a biological test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a attempt to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a youth with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who compiled the data, told the court there "showed no any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.

On that date, Mr McCann answered a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I will continue and I intend to demonstrate my point."

The court heard the co-defendant established a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in the county in last December.

Phone records revealed Mrs Spragg had reached out through WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the period leading up to the visit to that location, that area, in last December.

The court learned communications between the two individuals, in that autumn, considering attempting to get Mrs McCann's genetic material from her garbage or from silverware at a eating establishment.

"We need to take action," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the appearance to their home, Mrs Spragg transmitted a text which said: "We are positioned outside the McCanns' home with our headlights off resembling detectives. I wanted to do this with another person I never thought I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
