The Streaming Platform is Developing a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent action-packed game that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for delighting in chaos and mayhem with equal glee, all while presenting engaging, politically driven narratives. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two creators whose projects have represented all of those qualities.

About the Series

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' style by introducing a new backdrop and group of personalities in subsequent series.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX family always encourages me with their ongoing belief and support.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style series. Each game is a variation of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always examining the essence of society through this complex and turbulent viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m thrilled to work with Rob and present our shared bold, visionary style to the audience.”

A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
